Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty expansion contains many different endings you can unlock depending on your dialogue choices during key moments in the story.

On this page, you'll find every ending Phantom Liberty offers to conclude V's story, including how to get them, the explanation for each ending, and its consequences on V and their romantic counterparts.

Phantom Liberty Endings Explained - How to Get All Endings

There are four significant endings in Phantom Liberty, and all four outcomes rely heavily on your dialogue choices during two vital Main Jobs: Firestarter and Killing Moon.

Firestarter: In this quest where you and Alex infiltrate Hansen's meeting with the netrunner twins, you'll have the option to either escape with Songbird or help Reed capture her.

1. Helping Songbird escape will unlock the Killing Moon main job, where you can get the King of Swords or the King of Wands endings.
2. Helping Reed capture her will unlock the Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos main job, where you can get the King of Pentacles or the King of Cups ending.

Killing Moon: If you helped Songbird escape during Firestarter, there will be a crucial dialogue moment at the end of the quest where you can either kill Reed—allowing Songbird to fly to Luna—or hand her over to the NUSA.

King of Wands - Kill Reed in the Killing Moon

Arguably the best ending in Phantom Liberty and the one that fits the philosophies of V and Johnny the most, the King of Wands allows V to see his situation from another person.

So Mi, a puppet who was taken advantage of by Myers and the NUSA, gets a second chance. You'll also free Reed from the clutches of his own principles while Alex gets her sunny retirement in Monte Carlo.

When you arrive at the Tycho terminal station with Songbird, she'll reveal that the neural matrix can only be used once and that she was lying about curing both of you the whole time.

• Picking her up and then killing Reed during the confrontation will result in the King of Wands ending.

The dialogue below is the last chance you'll have to change the ending you get from this mission.

If you draw your weapon while talking to him, you'll need to kill him during the slow-mo sequence; otherwise, he'll kill you, and then you'll have to reload from your last save point.

• Be sure to pick up his iconic tech pistol, Pariah, next to his body after putting So Mi inside the spaceship.

Consequences for the King of Wands Ending

After watching the launch with Johnny, the credits will roll, and you'll spawn by the marina overlooking the spaceport.

Songbird will live and stays on the Moon, leaving you and Johnny back to square one with no cure. Proof of her successful operation will show up later during the Main Job, From Her to Eternity—where you'll find a hermetic container with a metal pin from the lunar city of Tycho inside

• She'll also leave you her personal cyberdeck, the iconic Quantum Tuner.

You'll also talk to Alex and share a drink with her for the last time at The Moth during the mission, Unfinished Sympathy. After completing that mission, you can go back to your apartment to find a postcard from Alex, telling you that she's turned her back on the FIA and made it to Monte Carlo in Monaco.

King of Swords - Hand Songbird Over to Reed in the Killing Moon

If you decide to hand Songbird over to Reed at any point after her confession about the cure, you'll unlock the King of Swords ending at the conclusion of Killing Moon.

Reed will ask you why you turned your back on her, and you can tell him the truth about the cure. He'll then take her inside an FIA AV and tell you you'll hear from him shortly about the operation.

King of Cups - End Songbird's Misery in Somewhat Damaged

When you find Songbird inside the Cynosure core at the end of Somewhat Damaged, she'll tell you that the damage she's taken from the Blackwall exposure has essentially erased the majority of her own mind.

Not wanting to be a slave to either the rogue AIs or the FIA, she will ask V to end her life as a way for her to go out as herself.

If you decide to honor her last wish, you'll plug out the cable connecting her to the core, and that'll be the end for Songbird.

Consequences for the King of Cups Ending

Similarly to choosing Songbird over Reed at the end of Killing Moon, honoring her wish to die in Somewhat Damaged will also lock V out of getting the cure for the Relic.

Both you and Reed will drive her body back to Myers during Leave in Silence. She will dismiss your efforts in retrieving So Mi as a failure and reward you with a measly 5,000 eddies.

King of Pentacles - Refuse to Kill Songbird in Somewhat Damaged

Refusing to honor Songbird's wish to die will nudge you toward the King of Pentacles ending path. When Songbird tells you she's too weak to end her own life, you'll be given the following dialogue options.

Once she gives you her reasoning, pick any of the two options that'll spare her, and Reed will come to help you both.

Consequences for the King of Pentacles ending

Objectively the worst ending in Phantom Liberty, the King of Pentacles perpetuates the cycle of the dog-eat-dog world of Cyberpunk.

So Mi will eventually be cured by the FIA, but her life purpose went from being the government's netrunning lap dog to a literal Blackwall slave.

Reed never learns of his mistakes and blindly follows his principles. Alex is dead at the hands of Hansen—never getting her wish of leaving Night City alive.

However, V will get recognition with a medal from Myers and a guaranteed cure for the Relic.

Through the two main jobs you unlock from this ending path, Who Wants to Live Forever and Things Done Changed, you'll later learn that though V is finally cured of the Relic degradation, the operation costs him to lose all of his friends due to a two-year coma.

Not only that, V has also lost the ability to use any sort of Cyberware, ultimately ending his mercenary career.
