In 1982, Goldberg created the series Family Ties, which would run for seven seasons and create a superstar out of a young Michael J. Fox. The two would later team up for Spin City, which ran from 1996-2002.
Throughout his long career in television, Goldberg was nominated for seven Emmy awards, winning two. He also won a Producers’ Guild Award for Brooklyn Bridge, the semi-autobiographical series which Goldberg created.
Goldberg also made a few forays into film. Most recently, he wrote, directed, and produced 2005’s Must Love Dogs starring Diane Lane and John Cusack.
Some people might recognize Goldberg’s voice from the “Sit, Ubu, Sit” that comes on at the end of Ubu Productions’ programs.
